Irlam and Cadishead Leisure Centre has recently introduced two exciting new sessions into its programme aimed specifically for children with disabilities and delivered in both the sports hall and the swimming pool.
The fun and active sessions are designed to enhance motor skills, develop confidence, promote fitness and learn new skills and at the same time the chance to meet new people and make friends!
A new disability swimming session has been set up and takes place on a Saturday afternoon in the small pool, again, all children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times. The session includes swimming development advice, water confidence and play.
The sports hall session takes place on a Sunday afternoon and activities include Boccia, Kurling, Basketball, Cricket, football and various aerobic games all designed to suit the child’s needs. All disabilities welcome but each child must be accompanied by a carer or parent at all times.
A qualified instructor is provided at all times for both sessions.
Sports Hall Session: Sunday 2.30pm – 3.30pm
Swimming Session: Saturday 2.30pm – 3.15pm
Charge: £2.00 per child
