Playing in the Division One of the Manchester League the Club have brought in a wealth of experience and talent in the shape of Manager Paul Colgan and head Coach Fran Egan.

Paul brings with him a wealth of experience having managed at semi-pro level with Atherton LR, Curzon Ashton and Rossendale United and had success with North West Counties League club Glossop North End, with his last appointment in a coaching role at Moor Lane with Salford City FC in the Evostik League.

Joining Paul at the Steel Club is Fran Egan who will take up the role of assistant manager and head coach having started his career at Oldham Athletic he has been ‘there and got the t-shirt’ when it comes to semi pro football.

Irlam Steel AFC club chairman Martin Ivison added, “This is an excellent appointment for the club and will help take us forward in the right direction. We are all singing from the same sheet and want to promote local players from Irlam and Cadishead and the surrounding District, there are great times ahead.”

Along with the local knowledge from local lads reserve team coach Marc Rowan and committee man Andy Bowers the dream team are getting ready for a successful and enjoyable future at Irlam Steel AFC.

The Club that has already achieved FA Charter Standard will be hosting a day for everyone to come along with a ‘double header’ at the Steel Club on Saturday August 2nd when the first team and reserves will be taking on high flying and current Manchester Premier League Champions Hindsford United that will also be a family day with barbecue so why not come on down and get behind the lads!
