OPTICIANS HAVE CHARITY IN THEIR ‘SIGHTS!’

Staff at an Irlam Opticians raised £150 for the ‘Meningitis Now’ charity supporting young Tyler McEneaney who was 18 weeks old when he contracted Meningitis. He had bacterial meningococcal sepsis and septicaemia. His lungs and heart were also failing due to the disease. We are pleased to say he is doing very well now after everything he has been through.

The fundraising staff at Alan Miller opticians on Liverpool Road, Irlam and in Salford ran two promotions recently to cover Mothers Day and Easter. The Mothers Day promotion price was a manicure, box of chocolates and a handmade crystal bracelet. The Easter promotion prize was a 1Kg Thornton’s Easter egg and a large box of chocolates. The raffle tickets were available to be purchased at a cost of £1.00 each and every patient who purchased spectacles were also given a ticket to enter them into the draw.

Karen Russell from the Opticians said, “We would like to say a huge thank you to all patients and staff that helped us to raise the money we were able to present Tyler with. We would also like to thank Thornton’s, TH Nails, Monton and Linda @ PHD Hair dressers, Irlam. We were very proud to present the cheque to Tyler and his parents Jess and Andy with a cheque for ‘Meningitis Now’ to the value of £150.”
