‘KNEES UP!’ PARTY AT THE LAKE CAFE

‘KNEES UP!’ PARTY AT THE LAKE CAFE

Union Jacks, bunting and our ‘Vera Lynn’ blasting out of the phonogram all added to the atmosphere at the popular ‘Café on the Lake’ at Moss Farm Fisheries in Irlam as the café was transported back to the 1940’’s for a D- Day Party.

D-Day was the turning point in the Second World War as thousands of allied troops poured into Normandy on the 6th June 1944 signalling the beginning of the end for Germany and her axis allies.

Diane Ferguson from the Café said, “We had a number of guests for the ‘Street Party’ complete with newspaper table cloths from the era, with everyone dressing up and having a good old fashioned sing along and knees up!”

Street party food included sandwiches and cakes, sausage rolls and pies followed by trifle washed down with home made lemonade and a great time was had by all as our pictures show!
