Dozens of convicts will be on the run, but don’t worry there is no need to lock the doors and call the Police as this ‘jailbreak’ has only one aim, to raise as much money as possible for charity.
Later this month the 26th of July will see the launching of the first ever Cheshire jail break event, in aid of Genesis Research Trust and the organisers need you!
The event will begin from Risley Prison at 10am, when teams will then have 10 hours to get from Risley Prison back to the event HQ at The Black Swan, Rixton by 8pm that evening covering as many miles as possible without using a penny of their own money. The team’s distances will be measured by UFindIT apps measuring distances covered.
Stuart Wraith from the Black Swan said, “Our aim is to raise funds for two local ladies Juliette Hassell from Glazebrook and Zoe Atherton from Hollins Green in aid of Genesis research trust, to help improve the lives of women and babies worldwide.”
In November the ladies will join Professor Robert Winston’s Women for Women cycle challenge to Tanzania and Zanzibar to raise money to fund medical research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating conditions.
Alternatively if you don’t feel up to the challenge of putting a team together you can come down and enjoy the family fun day they are holding at The Black Swan from 4pm onwards including live music, children’s entertainments, BBQ and face painting etc at the Black Swan to welcome the teams back home All teams must enter by midnight on the 20th July in order to get your competitor packs sent out, entrance fees must be paid in advance.
