Irlam Male Voice Choir held one of their Annual Concerts at St Paul’s Methodist Church in Irlam recently in front of a packed and appreciative audience.
Conducted by Julie Parker and accompanied by Kathleen Hesford on the Piano, the Choir performed an a number of popular pieces including a Cole Porter Medley, Amazing Grace, Take Me Home, Black Hills of Dakota, Sailing and Bridge Over Troubled Water.
The concert also featuring both piano and vocal solo’s from the talented Choir. The Choir will be travelling to Anglesey in September as guest choir of the welsh, Foel Male Voice Choir and have further concerts planned locally at St Johns Church and St Pauls Church later in the year.
Irlam Male Voice Choir has existed continuously for over 60 years having been formed in 1946 as the ‘Irlcadians’ following a lunchtime meeting at the former Irlam Steelworks.
The Choir are always looking for men interested in joining their ranks, with rehearsals on Mondays between 7.30pm and 9.30pm at Cadishead Congregational Church facing the Royal Arms Club where you will be made very welcome.
